Text 3 Sep 03/09/2013: BOWIE PLAYS/PLAYED THE CELLO

If you google Bowie cello, you get a tonne of photos of DAVID MOTHERFLIPPING BOWIE PLAYING THE MOTHERFLIPPING CELLO.

This excites me. It should excite you too (probably only if you love him and/or the instrument).

31/08/2013: Foxy!
So today I grabbed a comfy top & the first cloth bag I saw in the cupboard before leaving the house for college (I’m back at college again - new tutor, really like her teaching style & she’s pretty funny too). What I was too groggy to notice WAS: 1. there was a fox on the top & the bag, 2. The top-fox has a blue polka dot bow tie & I have one blue polka dot nail on each hand at the moment.

Awkward.

Oh, by the way. New fox top. Isn’t he dashing? His bushy tail is on my back. The eyelashes do not assert feminity to me, it’s definitely a dashing man fox. AND would you believe, New Look aged 14-15 for like £15. WINNER.

We are now growing parsley, salad things & spring onions, and the basil & rosemary have a better home than a tiny plastic pot each. Yay!

Text 18 Aug 2 notes 18/08/2013: He’s Coming Home

The fiancé has been away this week, seeing his family. So I’ve been sleeping badly, drinking a fair bit of wine to try & sleep less badly, eating pretty poorly because cooking properly seems like too much effort for one, listening to the radio pretty much non-stop (&no TV at all except 1 moviefilm on DVD - Let Me In), washing up like a demon but leavibg the living room in an absolute state… and generally just missing him horribly. So today he gets back & we will eat tasty proper food, drink some more wine & cuddle on the sofa with a DVD (Hunger Games or I Love You Man, as they just arrived on the LoveFilm) & I’m pretty bloody excited about it.

Chat 30 Jul 1 note 30/07/2013: F1 Interview
 •
Lee McKenzie: there have been rumours... Would you like Fernando as a team-mate?

 •
Sebastian Vettel: I'd prefer Kimi.

 •
Then Sebastian goes on to say that he respects Kimi, who is always very straight with him.

 •
Is Raikonnen literally everyone's favourite driver, as a person?!

 •
(Don't get me wrong, Webber is a true gent... But Kimi is the don)

 •
I hope Kimi doesn't go to Red Bull, though. Would they have equal number 1 drivers? No? Well I can't see Kimi liking being number 2. But Lotus' poor strategy is letting him down. Hum.

12/07/2013: Glastonbury Festival 2013 - The Photos

(At least… the ones that don’t have my friends’ faces in, that aren’t shit, that I can actually show you. So about 10 in total then ^_^)

This will necessarily be over-summarised (i.e. missing out too many awesome things).

Text 1 Jul 1 note 01/07/2013: Back From Glasto.

Hello world! I am sat on my sofa with clean hair and sunburn after the best fucking week of the year.

It only takes a week of shamelessly being myself to realise that I have allowed myself to become a little shamed of who I am, out here in the “real world”. Veggie, bi, quite-liberal-but-actually-quite-pro-nanny-state, silly in short bursts all the time but quite serious the rest of the time, a bit too sweary but really keen to continually expand my vocab, incredibly codependent with my fiancé but determined to remain a “Strong Independent Woman” somehow… All of this and more. I don’t feel the need to wear my identity on my blazer nowadays (although all my band badges are still tucked away in a drawer to look at and smile at my leisure) but I am ME and no matter how similar that might be to someone else, I am still unique and my life is still valid.

Tomorrow I will talk Glasto highlights. Actually I might stretch them out by type through the week…

24/06/2013: Apron Progress.

Simple “butcher’s apron” design from The Great British Sewing Bee book. I have done all the edges on the apron itself now, except the bits that need bias binding. I haven’t done the bias binding at all yet.

(Also I need to buy some D hooks)

Dress that Mum made me now has a fixed strap, yay. Coat has not been reunited with its buttons yet. Watch This Space…
